About
Here’s a little info about Steve:
He’s 40 something.
He works for the US Postal Service as an Electronic Technician.
He commutes daily on his Honda VFR800 (that’s a motorcycle).
He enjoys, among other things, wine, cigars, coffee, art, & literature.
He’s a lefty.
He’s happily married (over 15 years now) and has two great sons.
He seems quiet until you get him started. Don’t get him started! He will talk and talk. Really. Don’t get him started! You’ll rue the day.

Here’s a fancified photo of Steve:

I know this dude! I can attest, as one who has often gotten him started, he will indeed talk and talk. As one of my favorite characters in life, I’ve almost never rued the day having done so. (almost.)
hi, Steve, i just noticed someone came to my site from your blog so i’m here to check you out! (smile) thank you so much for the support, and i love Steve’s floating head…very cool! cheers, y.
hi, y,
You’re welcome and thanks for stopping by – I enjoy reading your poetry and am happy to put your site on my blog roll.
Alas, while my mind often wanders, my head, in real life, remains earthbound (that’s probably a good thing)
-Steve
I came here from Pearl’s site and like Y I dig the floating head – among other tings …
It’s amazing how following these links can lead one to a group of sites that feel right given that WP said they sponsored over 11 million sites!

Thanks Elisabeth and thanks for reading.
The floating head says, “Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!”
I like your site as well.
-Steve
aloha Steve – the eyes definitely have it in your floating head. that’s a beautiful open. way cool. …wait. there’s a curtain?
…now that i see you’re in the postal service… wow, you must have some keen insights on Mail Art – may be even stories? – i’ll bet you can really have fun with the system. …may be you should use a nom de plume. . . as a mail art artist i mean… you know… if you decide to… play.
yeah. those quiet talkers. i know the type. you dont carry a big stick do you?
fun. fun on. – aloha – Wrick
Hey Wrick,
I guess you could say my laptop is the curtain . . .
You know, I’ve never really been exposed to Mail Art. I’m in the maintenance side of things and I could tell you more than you’d ever possibly want to know about mail sorting machines and postal networking but nobody wants to know more than they’d ever possibly want to know.
I saw your examples of Mail Art and, of course, my eyes immediately locked in – I do see a lot of mail! (not as much as I used to when I worked nights)
I’m glad you found your way here,
aloha – Steve
aloha again Steve – i know mail art artists have plenty of stories about postal service adventures. i suspect the postal service workers have just as many great adventures with mail art artists too. not to mention some incredible challenges and interactions. fun to get both sides of the story i suspect. i like a lot about mail art.
yeah. i’m glad i found my way here too. …altho i must say i was looking for a few of your Maybe Some Pictures too. – write on, i like the way you write. aloha – Wrick (or rick either works. . . most of the time).
I have a BMW GS 1200 Adventure, I write most of my stuff when I am on my bike. It is glorious to be alone.
Keep posting I like your style.
Dave
Thanks for visiting, Dave. I think I will keep on posting (I’m pathological that way).
I stopped by your site and enjoyed it very much.
The BMW 1200 Adventure is, by all accounts, a great bike (I’ve never ridden one; although I have ridden a 1200RS). I’ve written many haiku, on my Honda, in the 12 mile stretch between home and work. It’s the right kind of solitude.

I cannot refute that!
